BIOGRAPHY: Joseph, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I lay my hands upon thy head and confer upon thee a blessing. A father's blessing. The blessing of the Patriarch in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ; and as I do so I realize the importance of the position I hold and the importance of the blessing unto thee, and I pray God the Eternal Father that He may give me of His Spirit that I may bless thee in such manner and with such words as shall give thee greater faith, greater strength of purpose, and enable thee to overcome those things that are of a trying nature to thee, and work out before God a work that shall be of worth in the sight of God. I pray that the influence of the divine spirit may be given to thee; that faith and strength may come to thee; and that those things that have in the past troubled thee, in the shape of disease may trouble thee no more; but in the stead thereof will come health, enabling thee to perform the duties that devolve upon thee as may apply to thyself and to thy employer; and I pray that the influence of His Spirit may be with thee to confirm thy faith and the resolution made to serve God, and to keep His commandments. The Lord hath recognized the desire in thy heart to be good, and to serve Him. He also recognizes the many efforts the adversary hath made to lead thee astray, among the allurements and enticements of the world and weakness of the flesh, and recognizing the struggles that have been with thee, He is willing to extend His hand of mercy and love and lead thee along the pathway of life, and lead thee in safety. The Lord has been mindful of the struggles thou hast made when thou hast been alone, when thoughts have crowded fast in upon thy mind, and when natural skepticism and doubt have been with thee. He knows just how hard it has been for thee to make up thy mind and to do right and to resist the temptations that come before thee; and my dear boy, by the influence of His love He desires to lead thee onward and upward in this life. Thou art entering upon life and all life's possibilities lie before thee, and oh, there is a wide field opening before thee, a field of usefulness, a field of grandeur, a field of honor, wherein thou may yet make thy name honored in the world, not among men, with the honor and glory that men can bestow, but the honor which is given thee because of thy integrity to God, and the effort thou shalt make to build up and establish His work. Do not be disturbed in mind by the thoughts that have been given thee, and the enticements of the adversary. Do not allow thyself to be persuaded against thy better judgement, neither need thou fear that thou art not called of God, for thy calling is in the work designed of God, for thee to accomplish in the establishment of this great latter day work, in the preaching of the Gospel, in moving forward to the accomplishment of the design in establishing of the work. God desires thee to make a name of renown, a mighty man in His Kingdom, and the prospects lie before thee that thou mayest enter in and occupy and make to thyself a place of honor in God's kingdom. However, my dear boy, there are temptations yet laying in the way, these are trials yet to be borne, it will not all be easy for thee in the struggle that lies before thee; and yet there is promised to thee a great reward, there is promised to thee the aid of the Spirit of God to enable thee to develop into a mighty man for the moving of God's work, for the redemption of ion and her cause. And the influence of the Spirit shall be thine to guide thee, and wherein in the past there has been doubt in thy mind, wherein thou hast felt as though thou wert not worthy of this calling, this ministry, that He promises to bestow upon thee; the influence of the Spirit has been drawing thee toward this great end, and I bid thee to be faithful; be faithful to the covenant which thou has made and you shall be blessed by the influence of His Spirit. Thy mind shall be broadened and quickened, thy memory shall be strengthened, thou shalt be enabled to grasp the scriptures pertaining to the deep things of the Kingdom, and shall be enabled to present them to thy fellow men, pleading with them to accept the mercies of God, come into the fold of God and be redeemed. Oh, be thou faithful to the covenant which thou hast made, permit nothing swerve thee to the right or to the left and therewith before thee honor and glory; and what is better than this honor and wealth. The welcome plaudit, "Thou hast been a good and faithful servant, enter into my joy." This is better than the praise of men, the recompense that God promises for the faithful discharge of duty in wider and grander than anything man can give. If thou art faithful the Spirit of God shall be given thee, to open thy mind, to present to thee the visions of eternity, to present to thee the truth and beauty that is in the Kingdom of God, that which is promised to be given to those that are faithful. All along the line of life His hand shall sustain thee. Thy life line shall be laid in pleasant places of faithful. It shall be given thee, it is true, little by little, as He has promised, line upon line, and precept upon precept, but if faithful thou shalt be permitted to grow and excel, and if faithful thou shalt be permitted to counsel in the Kingdom of God in the things pertaining to life and glory. My dear boy, remember that from Him cometh all strength, do not suffer thyself to be lifted up in pride, neither think more of thyself than is just and due, and above all control thyself, learn to control thy passions, permit thyself not to be carried into passions that would bring results that would be detrimental to thy progress, but learn to control and govern thyself, and He will lend thee as by the right hand and sustain thee, and enable thee to remember. He knoweth thy nature. He knows just how hard it is for thee to bear many things, but He will be with thee and enable thee to come off conqueror over these things–. My dear boy, I pray that God the Eternal Father may lead thee as by the right hand, as he has led thy father, and thy father's father, along the line of life. The blessing of the Patriarch in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ; and as I do so I realize the importance of the position I hold and the importance of the blessing unto thee, and I pray God the Eternal Father that He may give me of His Spirit that I may bless thee in such manner and with such words as shall give thee greater faith, greater strength of purpose, and enable thee to overcome those things that are of a trying nature to thee, and work out before God a work that shall be of worth in the sight of God. I pray that the influence of the divine spirit may be given to thee; that faith and strength may come to thee; and that those things that have in the past troubled thee, in the shape of disease may trouble thee no more; but in the stead thereof will come health, enabling thee to perform the duties that devolve upon thee as may apply to thyself and to thy employer; and I pray that the influence of His Spirit may be with thee to confirm thy faith and the resolution made to serve God, and to keep His commandments. The Lord hath recognized the desire in thy heart to be good, and to serve Him. He also recognizes the many efforts the adversary hath made to lead thee astray, among the allurements and enticements of the world and weakness of the flesh, and recognizing the struggles that have been with thee, He is willing to extend His hand of mercy and love and lead thee along the pathway of life, and lead thee in safety. The Lord has been mindful of the struggles thou hast made when thou hast been alone, when thoughts have crowded fast in upon thy mind, and when natural skepticism and doubt have been with thee. He knows just how hard it has been for thee to make up thy mind and to do right and to resist the temptations that come before thee; and my dear boy, by the influence of His love He desires to lead thee onward and upward in this life. Thou art entering upon life and all life's possibilities lie before thee, and oh, there is a wide field opening before thee, a field of usefulness, a field of grandeur, a field of honor, wherein thou may yet make thy name honored in the world, not among men, with the honor and glory that men can bestow, but the honor which is given thee because of thy integrity to God, and the effort thou shalt make to build up and establish His work. Do not be disturbed in mind by the thoughts that have been given thee, and the enticements of the adversary. Do not allow thyself to be persuaded against thy better judgement, neither need thou fear that thou art not called of God, for thy calling is in the work designed of God, for thee to accomplish in the establishment of this great latter day work, in the preaching of the Gospel, in moving forward to the accomplishment of the design in establishing of the work. God desires thee to make a name of renown, a mighty man in His Kingdom, and the prospects lie before thee that thou mayest enter in and occupy and make to thyself a place of honor in God's kingdom. However, my dear boy, there are temptations yet laying in the way, these are trials yet to be borne, it will not all be easy for thee in the struggle that lies before thee; and yet there is promised to thee a great reward, there is promised to thee the aid of the Spirit of God to enable thee to develop into a mighty man for the moving of God's work, for the redemption of ion and her cause. And the influence of the Spirit shall be thine to guide thee, and wherein in the past there has been doubt in thy mind, wherein thou hast felt as though thou wert not worthy of this calling, this ministry, that He promises to bestow upon thee; the influence of the Spirit has been drawing thee toward this great end, and I bid thee to be faithful; be faithful to the covenant which thou has made and you shall be blessed by the influence of His Spirit. Thy mind shall be broadened and quickened, thy memory shall be strengthened, thou shalt be enabled to grasp the scriptures pertaining to the deep things of the Kingdom, and shall be enabled to present them to thy fellow men, pleading with them to accept the mercies of God, come into the fold of God and be redeemed. Oh, be thou faithful to the covenant which thou hast made, permit nothing swerve thee to the right or to the left and therewith before thee honor and glory; and what is better than this honor and wealth. The welcome plaudit, "Thou hast been a good and faithful servant, enter into my joy." This is better than the praise of men, the recompense that God promises for the faithful discharge of duty in wider and grander than anything man can give. If thou art faithful the Spirit of God shall be given thee, to open thy mind, to present to thee the visions of eternity, to present to thee the truth and beauty that is in the Kingdom of God, that which is promised to be given to those that are faithful. All along the line of life His hand shall sustain thee. Thy life line shall be laid in pleasant places of faithful. It shall be given thee, it is true, little by little, as He has promised, line upon line, and precept upon precept, but if faithful thou shalt be permitted to grow and excel, and if faithful thou shalt be permitted to counsel in the Kingdom of God in the things pertaining to life and glory. My dear boy, remember that from Him cometh all strength, do not suffer thyself to be lifted up in pride, neither think more of thyself than is just and due, and above all control thyself, learn to control thy passions, permit thyself not to be carried into passions that would bring results that would be detrimental to thy progress, but learn to control and govern thyself, and He will lend thee as by the right hand and sustain thee, and enable thee to remember. He knoweth thy nature. He knows just how hard it is for thee to bear many things, but He will be with thee and enable thee to come off conqueror over these things–. My dear boy, I pray that God the Eternal Father may lead thee as by the right hand, as he has led thy father, and thy father's father, along the line of life. I pray that He may shield thee from the dangers and from the trials that have been hard for thee to bear, and makest easy for thou to bear those things that thou mayest conquer and come up worthy and be permitted to grasp the hands of the worthy ones that have come before, look them in the eye, and feel that thou hast made thyself a man of God, and that thou hast nothing to fear, but that thou art recognized as a son of God, honored of Him, and if faithful thou shalt win these honors, and be able to stand before them ?{and} the great judge when He shall come to try the quick and the dead, to give to those who have labored for Him according to their works, thou shalt be able to say to him, "Father, thou made my character according to the rules which thou has given, now give me my inheritance." and He shall give thee thine inheritance, and thou shalt enjoy it. Thou art of Israel, thou art of the line of Joseph who was sold into Egypt. Through a long of ancestors there cometh to thee the prestige of the prophetic character of a family moved upon by the presence of God's Holy Spirit. I bid thee make thyself worthy. Keep thyself from the sins of the world, and Eternal :Life shall be given to thee. Thy name shall be had in honor among the noble ones of the earth, and thou shalt be recognized as one laboring to join the mighty among the sons of god. I bid thee to labor to redeem the stains that the world hath heaped upon thy ancestors whose name has been had for good and ill report in all the world. Prove thyself one of the noble children of a noble sire. Let this be thy words, fired in thy heart, that nothing that thou shalt do shall bring reproach or stain upon the name that you bear; but prove to the world That God has wrought through thy ancestors and through thee, that thou shalt be a redeemer, and shall be among those who shall meet the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoy the time when He shall come to His Kingdom, and it shall be said to thee, if faithful, "thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many."
