So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • Obituary: R. Hulbert Keddington 1917 ~ 2004 Ramah Hulbert Keddington, 86, died peacefully at home in Salt Lake City on June 17, 2004. Hulbert was born in Salt Lake City on July 12, 1917, to Ramah and Minnie May Hulbert Keddington. He married Marjorie Adell Guiver on February 23, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Marjorie passed away November 23, 1974. On May 17, 1979, Hulbert married Margaret Ann Ballard in the Salt Lake Temple. Hulbert maintained a lifelong passion for music. He sang often on the radio and was featured on the KSL radio program "Sunday Evening on Temple Square." He was also part of the quartet "The Electric Four" sponsored by Utah Power and Light. Over a span of 40 years he was a soloist for funeral services at the Larkin Mortuary. For many years he was the conductor of the Scandia Male Chorus. He also was involved in many theater productions in the Salt Lake Valley. Hulbert frequently shared his musical talent with another great passion of his life: the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served seventeen years on the LDS General Board Music Committee and was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, with which he was a frequent soloist. Some of his most beloved memories were of performances of "Come, Come Ye Saints" on a European tour with the Choir. Hulbert was the Bishop of the LDS Capitol Hill 2nd Ward in the Salt Lake Stake. He and Ann served an LDS mission in Edinburgh, Scotland from 1987 to 1988. For eight years he was a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple and had the privilege of leading the choir in the Solemn Assembly commemorating the Temple's centennial. Also an active member of the community, Hulbert served for two terms on the Salt Lake City School Board. He began working for the Beneficial Life Insurance Company when he was 18 years old and stayed on for 48 years, taking a two-year leave during World War II when he worked at the Clearfield Navy Depot. His career at Beneficial Life culminated in his work as the Corporate Secretary. He was a member of the National Alliance of Business. He was fueled through these years on a daily dose of another of his great loves: chocolate. Every day he had a chocolate Coke and chocolate donut! An avid golfer, Hulbert played his last round just a week before his death. But above all, Hulbert loved his family. He is survived by his wife Ann Ballard; his five children, Anna (Terry) Summerhays, Salt Lake; Joe, Bountiful; Susan (Robert) Larsen, Bountiful; Ray (Jeanne), Salt Lake; Dave (Aleta), South Jordan; his five stepchildren, Kevin Maxwell (Sonja), Willinston, North Dakota; Collette (Bruce) Cornwall, Salt Lake; Sue Maxwell, Salt Lake; David Maxwell (Cheryl), South Jordan; Lisa (David) Burbidge, Salt Lake; 36 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren: and his sister JoAnn (Ronald) Bruin, Salt Lake. He is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie. Hulbert's sense of humor remained sharp throughout his life, but sadly his liver got "wurst" and he died. We will miss his wisdom and passion. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Life Path Hospice and Family Care for making Hulbert's final days so comfortable and peaceful. There will be a viewing Sunday, June 20, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary on 260 East South Temple, and funeral services will be held Monday, June 21st, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Highland Park Ward, 2535 S. Douglas Street (1250 E.), Salt Lake City, Utah. Published in the Deseret News from 6/18/2004 - 6/20/2004.
