So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

    • "New England Historical and Genealogical Register," 168 [Jan 2014]:16-33; article "The Earliest Shermans of Dedham, Essex, and Their Wives: Part 6: Edmund Sherman and His Descendants," by Michael Johnson Wood. Note that I only transcribe pages 16-18 which deals with Edmund and his two wives Ann Pellett and Ann Clere and their immediate children; the article continues thereafter detailing the descendants of this family:
"Part 1 of this article presented the structure of this family, descended from two sons of Henry Sherman the Elder (ca. 1512-1590) of Dedham, Essex, and his first "wife, whose ancestry can tentatively be taken back as far as 1366. The first son, Henry Sherman the Younger (say 1545-1610), married Susan Lawrence, and their descendants were presented in Parts 2 and 3 in an account of the Lawrence family. Five descendants of Henry and Susan (Lawrence) Sherman were Great Migration colonists to New England (see chart on facing page), and three other colonists were descended from Susan’ s siblings.[347]
The second son, Edmund Sherman (say 1548-1600), married first Ann Pellett, and an account of the Pellett family was presented in Part 4. He married second Anne Clere, and an account of the Clere family was presented in Part 5. Edmund Sherman had children by both wives, and an account of some of his descendants is given in Part 6.[348] Twelve descendants were Great Migration colonists to New England (see chart on facing page), of whom seven were children of colonists.
