So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • Grandson: Tommy Lynn Alvey (funeral remarks)

"Grandma Alveys life history is written in the hearts and minds of those who knew her as a lovable, unselfish and servicable person. She spent most of her life here in this valley. Even though I left the valley as a young boy my first memories in this life included my association with Grandma Alvey, taking care of and making a fuss over us grandchildren. These are fond memories. I have a favorite dream that I still dream some times of living in Escalante and associating with my father, grandfather and grandmother. It is a wonderful dream. Maybe it is a dream of the life to come where the family will be united and together. May we all live to be worthy of this."

      Daughter-in-law: Juanita Barney Alvey

"Everybody loved her. She was one of the most charitable persons I have ever known."

Aquaintance: Lily May Moosman Barney (Juanita's mother)

"A very special person. Everyone in Escalante knew her. People used to call her and four other friends when they were young, "The High Five" because they were "IT". She did many, many things for other people.
