Lockwood, Mo. -- Margaret Pitts, 87, of Lockwood, Mo., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Lamar, Mo. She was born on July 18, 1915, in Keokuk, the daughter of Albert Ferdinand and Anna Reimers Fiedler. Graveside services are at 11 a. m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, Ill., with the Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating. There will be no visitation. DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk is in charge of arrangements. Keokuk Daily Gate City, March 13, 2003, page 2: Margaret Louise Pitts July 18, 1915 -- March 11, 2003 ... Lockwood, Mo. -- Margaret Louise Pitts, 87, of Lockwood, Mo., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Lamar, Mo. She was born on July 18, 1915, in Keokuk, the daughter of Albert Ferdinand and Anna Reimers Fiedler. Following her parents death, she was raised from a young age by her aunt, Mary Knight. She married G. Herold Pitts on March 23, 1947, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1978. Survivors include: nieces, Debra (John) Shore of Annapolis, Md., Milia (Danny) Engelage of Lockwood and Sandra (Gary) Anthony of Dallas; nephew, Doug (Billie) Fiedler of Kansas City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Lora Fiedler of Dallas; several great-nieces; and seven great-nephews. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. William A. Fiedler and an aunt, Mary Knight. During her young years in Keokuk she was a member of First Christian Church and was employed at the pickle factory until it closed. Mrs. Pitts was an accountant for the State of Michigan. She raised cats. Graveside services were today at Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, Ill., with the Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating. There will be no visitation. DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk is in charge of arrangements.
