So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

In 1727 he partnered with Samuel Tracy and rented a grist-mill for 8 years. In 1734 he moved to Chatham, Middle Haddam Society. He owned much land, which he deeded to his children as they married. He and his wife Mary appear second on the first list of church members on the formation of the 2nd church of Middletown. In 1744 he move to Groton, and purchased property in 1746, but returned to Middle Haddam in 1760. Upon Mary's death, he remarried to Mercy. He died on his farm in 1773
