- Known as Edwin Warden he married Ellen nelson Gillies Kennedy, daughter of David Joseph, the first son of David and Ellen Kennedy. He died aged 92 years and was buried in the Presbyterian section of the Beechworth cemeteryby Rev Lloyd A1148 Edwin Warden was licensee of the Australian Arms Hotel at Silver Creek to which was attached a butchers shop. M.ros Shennen "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" indicates he registered miners claims in the Silver Creek area in 1862 which included Edwin Warden 28.11.1862 No 4th Shamrock Reef silver Creek Edwin Warden 9.10.1863 Creek claim - 100 yds nth of the Chinese camp - silver Creek.
