    • d. 19 Aug 1927, age 87 years, 2 months & 4 days, from aortic insufficiency and senility at home at 110 Pendleton, Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri The 1910 census has John & Mary living in Independence with two sons William and Charles still at home. Their granddaughter Mary M.E. Crum is also living with them. The 1920 census has the widowed Mary living in the home of her son Charles, along with her daughter Mary and son-in-law, James P. Coleman. Both men are working as pipefitters in a car machine shop. The house owned by Charles is at 110 South Pendleton Ave in Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri. John Kennedy was one of the founders of the RLDS Mormon Church in Egremont Twp. In 1885, he took his family and followed the prophet, Joseph Smith, to Independence Missouri. Even more it should be noted that John's son William Forrester Kennedy married the grand-daughter of Joseph & Emma Smith. Emma Belle Smith was the daughter of Alexander Hale Smith. Alexander was part of the RLDS Church and did not follow Brigham Young to Utah, rather he and his brother Joseph Smith III, Prophet of the RLDS Church, established missions through out California.
