So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

Francis & Ann Preece are shown on the 1851 consus as 76 & in Easthope
The only Ann Preece I could find christened in the area was in Eaton Under Heywood chr 18 May 1799 the dau of Charles & Ann Preece. If this is correct it would change the parents from my traditional records.
The source of Ann's birth is her son Thomas Crowther writing carefully in his own handwritten temple book in 1890, "Ann Crowther daughter of Francis and Ann Preece was Born October the 9, 1800 and She died August the 27th 1846 in the 46th year of her age" The parish records of Long Stanton, Shropshire, England show Ann of Easthope buried on 30 Aug 1844: the month and day agree, but the year is two years off. In the same temple book Thomas records "Francis Preece was Born October 9th 1774 in Shropshire England. This is my grandfather." Thomas was living in the same area as his grandparents for the first 30 years of his life and probably knew his grandfather and grandmother well. If Thomas is correct that his grandfather is Francis Preece, then the Ann Preece chr. 18 May 1799 the daughter of Charles & Ann Preece is not my GGGrandmother. (SDC 2/2003)
It would be REALLY nice if we could find a christening record to verify Ann Preece's birth, however I suppose there is a possibility she was not christened, or perhaps the priest forgot to write it down, or maybe she will yet be found in a neighboring parish.
Thomas Crowther's temple book also records the sealing of his grandparents "Francis Preece 9 Oct 1774 of Eng and Ann his wife 20 Jan 1775 Shrop Eng" to his mother "Ann Preece Crowther 9 Oct 1800 of Shrop Eng" and her other siblings. Apparently Thomas did not know his grandmother's maiden name, but he did record her birthday.

From: "The W. O. Crowther Family Book"
Ann Preece married Thomas Crowther, June 7, 1821, in the parish church of Cardington, Shropshire, England. no christening record from this parish or other nearby parishes has been found for Ann. Records of her descendants and temple records merely state that she was born October 8, 1800, somewhere int he county of Shropshire. Ann was the daughter of Francis Preece and his wife, Ann Powell.
Ann Preece Crowther was the mother of ten children. Her life was rather hard as she went with her husband from parish to parish with their large family because of his work as a farm laborer. She died at age 45, probably at the birth or soon after, their last child (of which we do not find a name, but it could have been stillborn and not registered). Ann died in Easthope, August 27, 1846.
