So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • From the Brockett Genealogy by Edward J Brockett, 1905:

"He was a public spirited man, and. like his father, took much interest in the political affairs of his times. He was also a large real estate owner.
In the Colonial Records frequent mention is made of his name. He was appointed Commisioner to determine what highways were needed in the Colony; was awarded 55 acres of land in the distribution of land. His name appears as one of the original proprietors of Wallingford and as owner of valuable "hopplands" at Pilgrims Harbor."

In 1701 he was taxed on the Grand List at Wallinford on 82 pounds. On Sept 27, 1680, his father, John Brockett, deeded land "to his well beloved son, "Samuel." March 27, 1712, he bought from his brother, John, Land in Wallingford. He died in Wallingford, Oct. 27, 1742."
