So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

He was elected as a member of the county court, or board of supervisors as the county court was first called under that system, and severed until the form of court was changed. In 1882 he was elceted judge of the county court at large and prersided over that body until 1886, the expiration of his term. While occupying that position he was untiring in his labors, looking after the interest of the county and of the taxpayers. He was a strong Republican but knew no politics in the discharge of his duties as a public official. For some years past he has been in ill health, which clouded his once vigorous mind and eath came as a welcome relief to his infirmities. Frank Kinman from Enterprise, Alex Sayers from Jackson, Hon. Thos D. Evans from Parson Creek, and W. D. Crandall from Brookfield, which township, it will be remembered, had two members. The names of the deceased members are: Jerimah Phillips from Locust Creek, W. D. Sontherland from Grantsville, Alfred Williams from Jefferson, W. H. Hale from Brookfield, J. R. Greenhalgh from Yellow Creek, Silas Hale from Benton. Milton Goldman was county treasurer at this time; Col E. C. Brott, sheriff, and Geo W. Martin, clerk of the county court.
