ROBERT de Tresgoz . m JULIANE de Cauntelo, daughter of WILLIAM de Cauntelo & his wife Melisende de Gournay.
** from Complete Peerage (GEC) v 12 pt 2 pp 18+
Tregoz. Robert de Tregoz, son and heir, was closely associated with Henry III; and for many years, 1226-41, received L20 p.a. "to keep him in the royal service." He had a protection to go to Brittany, Apr. 1230, and was in Gascony, 1242-43, and again in 1253-54; a Commissiner to view royal castles in Witls, 1241; was granted quittance of common summons in Hants, 1256 and 1262, Notts, 1257, Northants, 1262, and Wilts and Somerset, 1267; was ordered to aid the Earl of Hereford to protect the Marches, 1257; and was summoned for service in Wales, 1258, 1260, 1263 and 1264. In Oct 1261 he was among the trusted tenants whom the King, faced with the opposition of Simon de Montfort, called to London. He confirmed the foundation of a house of regular canons at Albury, in Send, Surrey, and was patron of the priory on the isle of Steepholm, in the Bristol Channel.
He married, presumably before 1 Aug 1245, Juliane, duaghter of William de Cauntelo (d. 1251), by Milicent, widow of Amauri (de Montfort), Count of Evreux, daughter of Hugh de Gurnay (Gornai). Robert died shortly before 24 Sep 1268. Juliane was living on 6 Aug 1285.
