Ann Halsey was born in 1591 in Flamstead, Hertfordshire, England and baptised there on May 30. She was the daughter of Robert Halsey and his wife, Ellen Alley. Ann married in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, on May 5, 1613, Thomas Wheeler. It was a double wedding, the other couple being Robert Halsey and Ann Wheeler. Apparently it was a case of a sister and brother marrying a brother and sister. Ann and Thomas Wheeler were the children of Thomas Wheeler and his wife. Ann and Thomas were the parents of at least six children, possibly as many as ten.
The family left for New England in 1637 according to the tax list for Bedfordshire that year, "Thomas Wheeler gone to New England, 1-05-00". The Wheelers settled first in Concord, Massachusetts where Thomas was a freeman in 1637. About 1644, they removed to Fairfield, Connecticut with the Reverend John Jones group.
Thomas died in 1654, in Fairfield. Ann wrote her will on August 21, 1659, and died on the 20th of October, in Fairfield. The location of her burial is unknown.
