- Ira Franklin "Jerry" Sine, age 88, passed away on June 17, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born February 4, 1902 in Hambleton, West Virginia, the son of Franklin Welrose and Sarah Allender Sine. Married Dora Ann Popp on November 17, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Member of the LDS Church and an active High Priest in the Ensign 6th Ward. Longtime member of the Kiwanis Club. Member of Footprinters. Auditor for Hood Rubber Company, Utah Gas & Coke, Covey's Investment, and businessman in Salt Lake City, affiliated with Se Rancho Motel, Rancho Lanes, Cottonwood Lanes, Wasatch Bowl, Newhouse Hotel, Kimball Apartments, New Astoria Hotel, New Villa Hotel, and New Oakland Hotel. A great believer in the West side of town and supporter of the Mayflower Compact Program.
Survived by wife; two sons and one daughter, Wesley F. and wife, Melva; Barry W. and wife, Sandra; Mrs. Michael D. (Betty Louise) Stewart; twenty-three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Robert E. Sine, Ruth Virginia Sine Burgess, Carrie May Sine Lott. Preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph W., Herman L., Archie R., and Angus M. Sine; and a sister, Nellie C. Sine Nelsen.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 1990 at 12:00 p.m. in the Ensign Sixth Ward Chapel, 589 18th Avenue. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the Church on Thursday one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
