So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • Thomas Chipman was born, probably in Whitechurch, near Dorchester, England about 1567; died about 1623. He owned property in Whitechurch which yielded him an income of £50 per annum. In 1775, Thomas Chipman of Salisbury, Conn., caused inquiries to be made by Silas Dean or Benj. Franklin, colonial agents in England, in regard to the estate, and ascertained that it lay as above described and that the rental was £500. He was prevented from prosecuting his claim by the breaking out of the Revolution and its consequences.
