So shall it be with my father: he shall be
called a prince over his posterity, holding
the keys of the patriarchal priesthood over the kingdom of God on earth, even the Church
of the Latter Day Saints, and he shall sit in the general assembly of patriarchs, even in
council with the Ancient of Days when he shall sit and all the patriarchs with him and shall
enjoy his right and authority under the direction of the Ancient of Days.

  • Notes
    • June 5, 1901 he married Sophina (Ina) Alcesta Gee in the Salt Lake Temple. John R. Winder performing the ceremony. We were blessed With five children--three girls and two boys. These are Ethelyn (married to Jackson Price and their home is in Redding, California); Marva (whose husband Joseph Jasper Gregory Jr. was killed in World It War II in Normandy, France); Waldo Gee who is a radio engineer at the American Aircraft Company in California (his Wife is Zola Grace Brown) and their home is in Downey, California; Afton (whose husband was James Eberhardt Lambert), she died of a heart ailment two years after marriage. Their home was in San Francisco, California; and Robert Gee, who after fulfilling a mission for his church entered the service of his country. He was a pilot of a B17 and after finishing his 25 combat missions in Europe was assigned to Hill Field In Ogden, Utah as a Test-pilot and was killed in a crash March 2, 1945.

Josh loved the gospel and served in all branches where he was called, faithfully and efficiently. Soon after returning from his mission in Europe he acted as a Home Missionary in the Provo 2nd Ward. A year later, when he was married, moved to the Provo 5th Ward and was a Block Teacher and Ward Recreational Chairman, Troop Committeeman, Scout Master during which time he earned 31 merit badges. He was a Sunday School Teacher for seven years, President of the YMMIA, Senior President of the 45th Quorum of Seventy, Genealogical Class Leader, member of the Utah Stake Sunday School Board for seven years and a member of the Utah Stake Home Missionaries and Returned Missionaries organizations. In all of these assignments he discharged his duties faithfully and with efficiency and honor.

Josh loved the great outdoors and was an ardent hunter and fisherman. He was a happy traveler and observer of beauties of nature. Several times we crossed the American continent enjoying the beautiful scenery and places of interest, both church and historical. He ceased these travels only when ill health prevented; which was in November 1946 when he was forced to his bed. February 20, 1947 he passed away in Provo City, Utah and was buried in the Provo City Cemetery.

Josh was a member of the Mendelssohn Chorus--a group of fine men who were organized first, because they loved to sing and second, because they loved to be of service to others giving many concerts free for everyone and many benefit concerts for worthy causes.
