Galley 1216 - 19 1/2 Ave Rock Island, Illinois, 61201 page 20, 38 I kept the AF date on this marriage because I know Elaine Nicholes has worked on correcting these records. this source indicates that Roxie and William obtained their marriage licence in Knox Co. Book 1, Vol 9. Number 4. she is recorded on the 1850 census of Walnut Grove Township, Knox Co., Illinois with her parents as SMITH, Roxalana age 25 born NY. her neice, Caroline, age 14, born ohio, and her daughrer, Thalia age 2 born Illinois, were living with her. William and Roxie divorced each other in bitterness in 1853 She received her grant in Knox county.
